Meh.

So last night, I had a talk with my Mum about what I planned to study/major in next time, because that would affect what I first take in college.

*Cue how-did-you-do-in-exams, what-subjects-are-your-strength*

I was telling her how I would love to do Science (Like Biomed), but now I'm unsure of whether I really want to be in a lab all the time. I mean, I love having alone time, but Science poses a different sort of challenge. And I told her that realistically, I'd end up doing Humanities. My Mum told me how she wanted to be a Microbiologist ('Cause she rocked at Bio), but sucked at Chemistry (I was like, "What? I thought you said you sucked at Physics"), so she couldn't do microbiology in the end (Imagine, my mum as David Sandstrom. Oops. Going off topic), and then she was saying that she felt that she was a very analytical person. THUS, ACCOUNTANCY CAME UPON HER. (Man I hope that doesn't happen to me. But now I realized how much more similar I am to my mum. I mean, type of food we like is one thing. How I act is another. LOL) (I have good genes.)

She didn't seem to mind when I said I wanted to do Political Sciences, haha. She was like, "The first degree isn't really *that* important. It's *where* you get your first degree from," because she knows this guy who's a director in an investment bank who got a degree in HISTORY in Oxford. It's more of the analytical skills and stuff that they want.

Mum also suggested that I might want to take Commerce (Uh... Accounting? No.) and major in something OTHER than accounting, like, maybe Business Admin or something. (Cue "Oh, I'd love to work in the UN" I got a "There, Business Admin can what." reply)

Then Mum suggested Psychology, which I think is an interesting field of study, but I don't want to spend too much time with head cases, or not I might become a head case myself. Besides, Psychology is taught in Political Sciences, so that's covered a little, LOL. Then I was like, "Psychology? HMM. HOW ABOUT SOCIOLOGY?" because it's probably a less head case-y study of human behaviour.

My problem now : I want to study in the US. The only way I can get into a good uni/an Ivy League, is if I take A-Levels or IB. Because SAM? Is only accepted in 7 US uni's, from the list I checked. I don't want to take A-Levels, because I know that I suck under the British education system, and the problem with IB will be cost and accessability to the campus (Taylors is offering it at Sri Hartamas at mid '09, the only other place that offers IB is ISKL - That is, The International School of KL, and if I'm not wrong, KDU. You know how expensive private schools are. Ew.)

So, since I want to work in the UN, I just thought that maybe I'd ask my mum's friend for input, since she works in the UN. But then I realized that she's only coming back from NY during, like, Chinese New Year, I think, and DAMN YOU, NATIONAL SERVICE. Unless I somehow get to see her during my one-week break which I will be applying for for CNY. Hmph.

SO YOU KNOW WHAT MY PLAN IS NOW?

PRAY. Hahaha. Yes, I'll pray so that I make the right choice and that I won't ever regret it. EVER.

SO I SHALL PRAY.

AND STUDY BIO AND PHYSICS. NOW.

[Edit]: OMG THEY SHOWED AARHUS. THEY FREAKING SHOWED AARHUS. THEY SHOWED THE WOMEN'S EVENTS AFTER THE MEN'S. WHICH MEANS I PROBABLY MISSED STUTTGART!

NO!

OTOH: Nastia was already out of her awkward stage in '06, aSac was already captain, and Chellsie fell off the UB, but she's still fierce. Also, Dad (Who happened to be near the TV when I just changed channels to OMGCHELLSIEMEMMEL) went "Chellsie Mem(As in memo)mel (As in Mel Gibson)" I LOL'ed internally.

Also, Cheng Fei is awesome. 'Nuff said. And it was only teams. I'm holding my hopes out that next week they'll show individuals ('Cause Soccermoney won Silver on vaults in Aarhus!). WAIT.

NO. NO. SHOW RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS NEXT WEEK. I WON'T BE HERE. THERE'S NO 8TV IN WHOEVERS HOUSE IT IS IN SINGAPORE. GAH.

[Edit edit] Oh, ShawnJohn, why so presh? I know you love peace signs and all. But seriously. I don't think peace signs should be on leotards. And are you doing it because Nastia has a signature line of gym equipment? Because if you are, that is adorable. And you can't have tater without tots.

[Triple edit] I can bet with you that you didn't understand a single one of my edits.

Jen - Hahaha. I can't choose for you! xD

Uh... I don't actually quite know why I want to work for the UN. It's just... I don't know. Interest? in the organization itself?

If I EVER do business admin, I might make myself end up in the WTA Tour or something. LOL. But no. Not keen on a Commerce degree. I'd take Sociology over Commerce.

I've been considering Psychology. Uh, that's all I've got planned.

Why do you want to work in the UN?

Political Science sounds interesting, yeah! I had that as an option since, I can't remember when - Form 3?(I remember posting about it here) But it wasn't 'til my mum's friend said that I looked like a Political Science student that I thought that maybe it WAS what I wanted. LOL. (To add to her saying that I should totes do it in Columbia. I was all, "HMM. NEW YORK". And look! Barack Obama graduated in Political Sciences... from Columbia!)

I STILL DON'T KNOW EITHER. AND, YEAH. NO UNI 'TIL 2010. BUT STILL.
