Back!

So I was halfway through typing a rather long post when my browser failed.

Anyway, went down to Singapore for a short trip, had dinner with family, which was awesome. 4th Aunt drove us to town for dinner (Carpool. Save the environment!) in her convertible, heeee. Not very comfortable squashing one's self at the back of a convertible, but it's a convertible, I'm not complaining. It's my second time in that car, anyhow. Hahaha. And in the car, we were talking about uni's and stuff, she was asking if I've started my applications yet ("So early?") and I was telling her that I'm most definitely not retaking SAT I, but probably going to push on with SAT II anyway and still apply for Cornell and Georgetown, which lead to the best reply I've ever heard.

4th Aunt: WHAT ABOUT COLUMBIAAAAAAAAAAAA~?
Me: UH... YALAH, STILL GOING TO TRY, BUT, YOU KNOW, HOPES KINDA CRUSHED HERE
4th Aunt: You MUST GET INTO COLUMBIAAAAAAA! THEN YOU CAN BE WITH YOUR COUSIN, AND THE BOTH OF YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER
Me: O_o

Anyway, I'm still going to push on with Columbia - NOT GOING TO GIVE UP! There was this random segment on the radio this morning (Singapore radio's like that) where they were talking about how quitters never win, and winners never quit, and winners win because they don't quit and quitters lose because they didn't even try. I believe that God has everything planned out, AND I'M NOT GOING TO QUIT. NO, I AM NOT. NOT WHEN I STILL HAVE A CHANCE, NO MATTER HOW SMALL.

I love how this trip to Singapore has REINSTATED MY VIGOUR.

SO, BACK TO DINNER. I was talking with Cousin about Real Duck and Fake Duck and then we proceeded on to saying duck in Cantonese ("Ngaaaap") and chicken ("gai") and quail and turkey ("Fo gai", as in, 'fire chicken'. We decided it was better used as profanity. "YOU FOOOOOOO GAI YOU!"). Then it went to pronouncing our names in Cantonese and whatnot.

AND THEN...

Remember, years back during one of my CNY posts, I was talking about this tongue twister about how a chicken was crossing the road and crossing the border looking for an accountant? WE IMPROVED ON THAT TONGUE TWISTER. IT IS NOW MORE COMPLICATED, CRAZY AND LOLTASTIC.

IT GOES LIKE SO~

The oldest Chia sister borrowed and umbrella to shade all the chickens that headed over there to cross the road to cross the border to find the accountant who said "Thank you"

AND I CHALLENGE YOU PEOPLE TO DO THIS. OR YOU COULD TOTALLY GET YOUR PARENTS TO DO IT.

TO MAKE THINGS EASIER, I SHALL GIVE YOU THE ROUGH ANGLICIZED VERSION OF IT TO GUIDE YOU.

"Zhe ZHE zhe ba zhe ZHE gor gor kai gor bin dou gor GAIE gor GAAIIIEEEE wan wui gai si gong do zhe"

GO FOR IT.

Anyway, I splurged on a book (Stephen Fry in America) and stationary (Like I always do when I'm given the opportunity to in Singapore) and I'm feeling happier now.

ANYHOW, PO LINN~ I, TOO, WAS HAPPY TO SEE YOU AGAIN. AND TO DELIVER THE NGAAAAAP. IT IS GOOD TO HEAR THAT YOU'LL BE BACK FOR CHRISTMAS, BECAUSE THEN WE CAN WREAK MORE HAVOC INVOLVING BICYCLES, SQUASH, CANTONESE TONGUE TWISTERS TO BE FORCED UPON OUR PARENTS. RANDOM THOUGHT - IS IT POSSIBLE TO CYCLE TO TMCC AND PLAY SQUASH THERE? HAHAHAHA.

Sleep now. College tomorrow.

Hey, don't give up on Columbia!

I thought this was the tongue twister:

The oldest Chia sister borrowed and umbrella to shade all the chickens that headed over there to cross the road to cross the border to find the accountant who said "Thank you"

Which made me think, PFFT. I CAN DO THAT. Then I read the Chinese one.
