Ooh!

I just had my first driving lesson!

I drove through empty roads, I forgot how to turn properly, I was feeling sleepy (Hahaha), I drove with traffic, I stopped a little too far past the line, I stopped a little distance FROM the line...

I am happy to say that:
1) The engine didn't die on me!
2) I didn't kill anyone!
3) I didn't scratch anyone's cars!
4) My instructor said I was good. MUAHAHAHA! *Ego*

However:
1) I can only have my next lesson on the 29th. I hope I don't forget anything.
2) I ALMOST had the engine die out on me. Luckily I remembered to put the gear back to Neutral fast enough.
3) My instructor kept asking me to slow down because I was driving 'too fast' (40km/h isn't fast! LOL). Uhuhuh. I hope I don't get a speeding ticket next time. LOL.

And I had a lot of fun!

And I saw Min Shen's and Yenn Ling's and Jen's names in the book. Hahahaha.

(I just discovered that Pn Nor Azilah has got a Facebook account. I have been traumatized)

... :D

Completely random post to start off the day, but...

HOLY CRAP, SANDRA IZBASA IS A LEFTY? GEEZ.

So, to add to the compounding list of People Who Make Me Really Really Really Want To Be Ambidextrous:

Min Shen
Sue Mae
Li Za
Alicia Sacramone
Sandra Izbasa
Tia Hellebaut
Yelena Isinbayeva

Also... 164cm is 5'5''? Cool. I didn't know that I seemed so tall.

...

I will be having my first driving lesson tomorrow.

That is all.

[Edit] Am watching CSI NY now. Running commentary.
- EYAL PODELL ON CSI NY. LOLOLOL. MORE HOUSE/CSI NY CASTING SIMILARITIES! I LOVE MY TV SHOWS.
- Pregnant women aren't supposed to be able to squat like that, right? Right? Unless this was filmed relatively early on in Anna Belknap's pregnancy...
- I am in love with their CSI NY jackets/hoodies.
- Hawkes is getting some loving?
- I love you anyway Hill Harper.
- I will never get myself one of those iPod armbands unless I want my arm to be chopped off.
- Hellllloooooooooo Nano! But it's black.
- I love you, Lindsay.
- I love you, team.
- LOLOLOL LINDSAY THAT'S A VERY RANDOM MOPED STORY.
- Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid. <3
- MICROPIPETTES. I SUDDENLY LOVE YOU MORE.
- Oh, or rather, Hawkes HAD some loving.
- That's some gross looking worms. This is coming from a person who's going to dissect cockroaches/mice this year. O_O
- LOL, wormtopsy.
- I just realized that the victim's name was Eleanor Rigby. Or rather, street name. Busker.
- Angell, I love you too.
- The women of NY all run in heels. Respect, man.
- Aw, bb Hawkes.
- I love your trenchcoat, Hawkes
- Mac, you rock too.
- I HAD TO WAIT 'TIL THE END FOR STELLA AWESOME?!
- Sid still has his fedora!

O_O WHUT?

Whut?

Whut?

MALAYSIA sent A TEAM to the Australia Youth Olympic Festival?

I was just randomly reading one of those gymnastics blogs that I read, and there were the results posted and all. Malaysia got 6th out of the 7 teams competing. Not bad lah. Considering the fact that there was, like, China, Japan, GB and Australia. New Zealand got last. Hur hur. I am proud to say that we were 0.8 points higher. Which means someone could've fell, but it would be okay.

Eh, our vaults not bad man. We averaged about 3 points behind China. But of course, that means that all 3 Team China girls could've fell and we still wouldn't have enough difficulty to beat them. LOL. UNLESS OUR GIRLS FELL LAH.

Why am I sounding so colloquial in this post?

Okay, now that I look at the individual scores...

Huh. It looks like they're pretty good on Vaults. (ASAC, YEAH!) They score about 12 on vaults. There's one girl who's good on FX, scoring a 12.something, the others are around 11. But their UB and BB sucks. There's one who's scoring around 12 on the beam, though.

WHY ON EARTH AM I -

That's it. I'm going off to read Freakonomics.

WORK WORK WORK!

Just blogging while taking a quick break from my homework. I suddenly have a lot of homework today - Chemistry, English, Biology, no Maths homework, though. I still have some reading to do to make sure I REALLY want to do the certain topic for the Investigative Study for ESL. (The books are Law and Practice of the United Nations, and The United Nations: How it Works and What it Does) Because I was thinking if I should present about whether the UN is relevant today. (Of course I think it is. I DO want to work in the UN, right? But there are some aspects I think they need to brush up on)

There's going to be a stupid 4-hour long talk/workshop I have to attend after college tomorrow - I think I should bring some paper to conteng on/a book I could read/a book I could draw in to keep myself amused.

COME ON, S'L. STOP BEING SO INCREDIBLY SLEEPY. REST IS FOR THE WICKED. WORK. WORK. FINISH YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU FALL SMACK DAB ON YOUR TABLE.

Will probably only be back online on Saturday.

Crap. I just remembered that Sue Mae wants and MSN date tonight. Gah. I better get my work done before I see her online.

Also, Min Shen - when I'm in the US earning my own money, I'll buy ourselves this shirt.

O_O

WHOO I got my money for photostatting Bio notes back. I'm not dangerously low on cash anymore. Now I need to collect back RM19.80 for the Econs notes. AND I have to photostat more Econs stuff this Friday. And I need to stay back tomorrow to see Ms Cheang (My class mentor).

I want to go back to visit my teachers in school (As in, SU teachers), but I don't think I'll EVER have the time. T_T I don't even know if I'll have time to LEARN to drive. Ugh. I'm back at 3pm everyday. I'm done at 2pm on Friday. I want to visit my teachers BEFORE Chinese New Year!

I dunno lah. Feeling very nostalgic suddenly.

[Edit] LOL. Damages. With Regis and Kelly in it. Patty Hewes. On Regis and Kelly. Okay, logically speaking, it was STUPID. But after ShawnJohn being interviewed on the show...

[Edit, 1 day later] Heeheehee, Patty Hewes has 'A guy' in Columbia. Hur hur. Lecturers doing suspicious things for undercutting lawyers. Also, I love her dog. But I do not love the new hair they have on Glenn Close. It's so... Poofy.

This is random, but...

I don't want House to turn into Grey's Anatomy... Especially NOT when it involves Huddy or 14. IN FACT, THE ONLY CANON SHIP I APPROVE OF IS D/L. Because they're so on/off and they barely show the two of them together, they might as well not be together sometimes. It's annoying as a shipper, but less annoying in a I STILL WANT MY SHOW sense.

And, OH, FINALLY, MSN ALLOWS ANIMATED ICONS!

I NEED SOME NASTIA CANCER STARE ICONS. I DO NOT HAVE ANY. I WILL EMPLOY HER WHEN APPROPRIATE.

=D

Hello there, G9 Class Rep! LOL. My assistant started off his acceptance speech with evil. "If you have any problems, look for Shu Lyn first. Then look for Su Yin (The Treasurer). Don't look for me," Hahaha. My Class Mentor was amused.

And the 3 of us are in the Econs class, hahaha. No class admin for Accounts! Muahaha!

Met up with Yenn Ling, Yih Shan and Li Za for lunch today. I <3 you guys. It was so spur of the moment, but you made it anyway. Heehee. You people must be BORED. Or you SERIOUSLY don't have anything to do at home. Hahaha. Li Za's going to LA tomorrow. aSac would probably be out of that place by the time Li Za arrives at LAX. Darn. Hahaha. But I bet with you Li Za wouldn't even NOTICE aSac walking past her. I don't even think she'll realize it was aSac when aSac TALKS to her or something, hahaha. But, you know, she might notice Min Shen's husband(s). OOH, I hope she runs into the House or NY set, man. That'd be awesomesauce.

First tests for the season starts in February. STUDY STUDY STUDY!

[Edit] Ms Cheang uploaded such pretty, mesmerizing notes for Bio. I cannot NOT print them in colour! It's so... PRETTY! O_O

Tennis...

Hahahaha, those Adidas flip flops really DO exist EVERYWHERE I fangirl at, huh?

First, there's multiple pictures of Chellsie Memmel perusing her pair many, many times (Even at the weirdest times, like that picture of her and Shawn - Shawn was wearing Uggs - boots - while Chellsie was wearing... those Adidas flip flops. LOL). OH, and that picture of Alicia Sacramone in those Adidas flip flops (With her knee strapped with ice). And now, an old 2004 picture of Justine with her Australian Open trophy... wearing those Adidas flip flops. THAT DESIGN. IT HAS OBVIOUSLY NOT GONE OUT OF FASHION. HAHAHAHA.

ILU, my tennis player and multiple gymnasts.

Also, the Australian Open is starting next week. It's funny, you know. It feels like it's just another year that Justine's skipping the AO, then she'll have another AWESOME year in tennis. Like, let's see... She played in '03, in '04 (She won), she missed '05, because she fractured her kneecap just before the Australian leg of the tour, but made a good comeback to recapture her French Open title that year (Which was the good thing for a year filled with injuries and recovery from CMV), she was back in the finals of '06 (UNFORTUNATELY we all know what happened. Meh - anti-inflammatories ARE NOT supposed to give STOMACH ULCERS, DAMNIT), she skipped AO in '07 because of problems on the personal front, but went on to capture 10 titles that year, which include 2 Grand Slams and the Year End Championships.

Justine's tennis has and always will be awesome. This year, if I am rooting for anyone, it'll be for Dinara Safina (Ironically, she was the last person to play AND defeat Justine), girl's getting better and better (and I've always liked her brother, heh, heh), and I'm hoping so hard that Svetlana Kuznetsova will stop her FAIL and win the French Open this year. Come on, Kuzzy! Even Justine and Carlos has faith in you!

Here's to a year with less tennis in me since 2003. :(

Obligatory "What I did in college today" post

- Some classmates want me to be Class Rep. Uh. Right. I don't mind. It's just that EVERYONE should be okay with it.
- I remembered why I loved Genetics. <3
- I didn't get to stalk Tun Dr. Mahathir today. Sorry, sir. My hopes and dreams of going to Columbia far outrank my hopes and dreams of seeing you. Cursed admin only let the Humanities students go in to watch him talk. HMPH. JUST BECAUSE WE'RE STUDYING BIO AND CHEM DOESN'T MEAN WE DON'T CARE ABOUT WORLD PEACE. PEOPLE LIKE ME STILL WANT TO TAKE POLITICAL SCIENCE, OKAY?
- Back to Bio. There's a gene called 'InterLeukin 23 receptor' in Chromosome 1. LOL.
- Amyloidosis can also be found in Chromosome 1.
- Chromosome 1 has about 4000+ genes, with about 263 million base pairs. This is based on ONGOING research. There could be MORE genes and base pairs.
- That's just CHROMOSOME ONE. REMEMBER HOW THERE'S 46 CHROMOSOMES IN THE HUMAN CELL?
- My Chemistry teacher has lame jokes in his notes. (Eg. "ACID RAIN: NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SWEET TO MELT")
- We have a DRAWING assignment for English.
- Econs. <3 I was in the library the other day, and I found something in the Introduction of an Economics text:

"Economics involves the overlapping of all social sciences, Law, Politics, Ethics, Psychology, Sociology and History. For example, an economist decides that higher taxes are necessary to control inflation.

A politician may reject the idea as it may mean a loss of votes with an election close at hand. A student of ethics might argue that only the rich should pay the higher taxes. A historian could point out that higher taxes has caused violence or maybe even revolutions in the past. A psychologist may question the possible effects of higher taxes on the individual's attitude to work, while a sociologist might consider the effects of higher taxes on domestic relations in low-income families. A lawyer representing a union in an arbitration court might use higher taxes as an argument for making employers pay higher wages."

- Okay. I now need to go and do my research on the Human Genome Project (HUGO) for Bio. I KNEW being a ReGenesis fan would bring awesome benefits in college. MUAHAHA!
- On a non-college related bit, I have now decided that I prefer Alicia Sacramone with blonde hair. The brown ain't working, I feel. I know she's studying in Brown and all, but... [/lame]
