I dunno, but I suddenly miss Singapore again.
I miss the public transport, the fact that I can end up in the opposite end of the country, and still get back to a relative's house in less than an hour.
*Sigh*
But then again, I would give anything to keep my friends that I have right now. See? There's always a bright side to everything.
About 2 weeks before I leave for Shanghai. I'm pretty stoked about the trip. Haven't been to a place during winter since... Since... Since 1997? LOL. So long ago.
Feeling a little down recently, thoughts quite scattered.
Hard to believe that we are THE seniors next year in school. No more students who are older than us, the prospect of the world looming, awaiting to consume us once we get out of the world of school. When we enter college, when we slug our way through uni (Eventhough I can hear my cousin shouting "Humanity courses are slacker courses!") and to the world out there.
Time flies by so fast. It was like yesterday, I was 4, walking along with my grandmother, that I was 7, just starting primary school. 12, when it all started to open up. Then I was 13. Then 14. 15. Now 16, and very soon, 17. It is said that as the brain develops, we lose sight of minute details, having too little time to contemplate. Savants - they may be handicapped mentally, in a way, but it opens up a whole new world for them. Not that I want to be a savant - the prospects of one side of the brain being partially damaged is quite horrifying, but the fact that they see things so differently...
Very soon, we'll have to throw off the carelessness of youth and submit to life...
Oh, well. That's why we should live in the present. Make the most of it. And I'm sure Appreciation Night have been a good jumpstart for most of you.
---------------------------------------
And now comes the shameless advertising bit.
Watch An Inconvenient Truth. Buy it. Borrow my copy. Whatever. I always thought that what mankind is doing to Earth is bad, but after watching AIT, it's not bad.
It's really, really, SERIOUSLY HORRIBLE. It's scary.
Plant trees. Lots of them. And recycle. And walk to school, if you're near enough (And, no. 10 minutes IS NOT FAR. And claiming that you wake up at 7.30am, so you can't walk to school is a lame excuse. WAKE UP EARLIER). Or carpool. Anything that helps.
The world may be fine now, but think about 5, 10 years down the line. When YOU are working, paying the air-conditioning bills, the water bills, taking shelter from unexpected storms.
Think about it.
What sort of world do YOU want to live in?

I can't seem to find those books that teach you those card tricks - you know, like sleight of hands stuff...
*sigh*
Anyway, I'm home. Whee.

I just realized something after reading some House forums.
If 13's a Mary Sue, then so is Justine.
LOL.
I wanted to update since... 2 days ago, but my cousin's other laptop couldn't seem to connect to Blogdrive. I wonder why...
Been having a good time in Singapore, bought very little things, found nothing I was looking for, but finding some other interesting things. Didn't bring the camera along with me, so didn't take any pictures (I'm sorry, Pei Lyn!).
HOWEVER, I did see something I really wanted to see for a long, long time.
I caught a 3-second glimpse of it. Hey, I was on the train, it was stationary in the showroom, okay?
The Audi R8. *Drool*
I saw 2 very big, very pretty advertisment banners. And the actual thing in the Audi showroom. The MRT just swooshed past the showroom-I barely caught a glimpse.
Out of the... total of 6 hours spent on Orchard, almost all of it was spent in bookstores. Yay.
I SAW THE HOUSE SOUNDTRACK. BUT THE PLACE THAT WAS SELLING IT WAS... SELLING IT AT 26 DOLLARS. SO EX, MAN. I was looking for it at That CD Shop after that, BUT THEY DIDN'T SELL IT.
And I don't get it. I HAVEN'T SEEN A SINGLE HOUSE DVD ON SALE. I SEE HEROES AND GREYS ANATOMY AND ER (From Season 1) AND CSI AND CSI MIAMI, BUT NO HOUSE AND CSI NY. WA;DLFJADL;FKJA;OIWERBOAIWURAI;J!!!
I saw some A5-sized tablets here, costing about 127 dollars. Not bad lah. Compared to the RM1300 for an A5 Wacom, and RM1600 for an A4 Wacom. They con us back home, man. Seriously.
I read Stardust, which was really good, but I still do not have any intention on going to watch the movie. Nope. I'm not going to spend 9 bucks and 2 hours or so of my life watching a movie. And I'm reading one of my cousin's uni text. Uh, she's kinda studying History, so it's "England in the Later Middle Ages". The intro's like, 78 pages, can? But I finally trudged through that, and I must say, it is interesting.
AND I MISSED MY BLACK DONNELLYS FINALE... *Bawls*
Will update again later when I remember anything else.

I promised Jen I'd update... So, here's the update!
I'm going down to Singapore tomorrow, and I'll be back on Sunday. Hopefully, I'll be able to get whatever I've been meaning to buy in Singapore.
I will (almost) definately be having a working Internet connection over there, so no worries from that front.
I'm having a blogger's block. Argh.
*wibble*
OH, Hugh Laurie's so out there on Blackadder. "Permission to wibble my lips, sir"

In the end, shiny, sparkly, pretty things are good, and ugly, deformed teenage boys are bad.
New House team promo pictures here.
I personally think Hugh Laurie/House looks weird in the one he was in... What happened to everyone elses' eye colours? How come Hugh's eyes came out... BROWN?!
And, hee. They've graduated from awfully short, unfancy lapels to pretty Wilson lab coats. And this time, MS, the coats really ARE tailored. But of course, no one can beat Cuddy's pinstripes.
And seriously. They put a tape over... 13's name and wrote... 13? I'm not quite sure if I want to be treated by a doctor who won't even tell me her name. Then again, I'm not quite sure I'd want to be treated by House - unless I'm uber desperate, or something.
But overall, ew. Such unflattering promo pictures. =(

Haha, I just watched CSI:NY!
It was a really, really good episode. Thankfully, they have concluded the MYSTERIOUS 333 CALLER DUDE! I still had to suffer through... 2 of Mac's "It started when I was in London" 333 recaps, which, after 10 episodes, get really, REALLY BORING.
So it turned out that Drew Bedford (Yes, creepy Stella boyfriend dude) was the 333 caller. I'm highlighting that out in case MS/YS doesn't want to know. In fact, I think MS doesn't care much about the 333 caller, but Yih Shan probably does. I KNEW that guy was creepy from the beginning.
Oh, I just realized that this week, they've concluded the most stretchy storylines on my favourite TV shows. Eventhough, equally on both shows, it got quite fun towards the end. I got a little more attached to the New Kids on House, and it went from boring to cool with the 3D puzzle on New York.
I'm still whining about not enough screentime for Hawkes and Lindsay, and I'm pretty sure Anna Belknap got herself a haircut. Like Min Shen and I were sure Hugh Laurie and Olivia Wilde both got haircuts.
And, yay, Stella FINALLY got her chance to shine! I think it's because Mac wasn't in New York. Even when Stella's in charge of something, Mac's still pulling the strings in a way or two. Hee. The episode was so charged, from the beginning to the end.
Watch this video. I think Pei Lyn and Jia Sheen would be happy to see their James Franco there. He's in it only towards the end. But it really is pretty funny to watch. The actors' facial expressions. Especially Demi Moore, LOL. Oh, and MS, remember when Hugh and Lisa were picketing, they looked like they were just out of filming? I've got a feeling maybe it was the same with Olivia, since she's still got her Thirteen necklace on - unless it really is hers.
Okay, I seriously should sleep now. I've got a meeting tomorrow at 8. I think I'll be 3/4 asleep during the meeting again. Yay, me! (What's with me saying 'yay' so much? Urgh.)

LOL. House. 13/Amber is the best bitch!medicine quarrel group out there. Too bad Amber got fired. I thought the Wilson thing was supposed to be bigger. Hmm... And Amber got all creepy after a while. The medicine was thrown everywhere, I nearly missed the diagnosis. Huh. The guy... had an autoimmune condition because... his immune system's shot? Right. Heee, I like the paediatric ward of PPTH. Cute. And, ooh! Oscar Wilde quote! "There's no such thing as a saint without a past, or a sinner without a future" Maybe it's a quirky little nod to Olivia Wilde's choice of a stage name. Add the laundromat scene as one of my favourite House scenes. Soooo, I enjoyed the episode. 'twas good. There is, however, one complaint. PPTH's ER WORRIES ME. It's obvious to see that, from today's ep, that Cameron and House were talking at the 'curtains' area, not the Trauma area. *sigh* A big, bloody scene would've been great. Oh, wait, we're watching House, not ER. If Cuddy doesn't realize a big, black helicopter lands on her hospital's helipad, I don't think there would be real trauma's going on. Still laughing about Chase acting all buddy around Foreman when he knows Foreman doesn't like him. *Messed up comment thingy* I'm so disorganized nowadays. Huh.

*Sigh* If the trip wasn't cancelled, I would've been on the plane by now...
ANYWAYS, I'm back from Singapore, and it sounds like I'm going back down again around... Next week! Yay!
Not in much of a blogging mood, but since everyone's updating, I shall do so as well.
Min Sheeeeeeeeeeeen, aaaaaaaaallll the best for your violin exam- eventhough I know you'll ace it anyway.
Funny how my cousin was complaining about being a year older than me, but enrolling in uni the same year. I didn't quite get where she was getting at, so I explained our system - 5 years in high school and a year in college/matriculation (Hopefully tak kena NS lah), then theirs is 4 years of high school and 2 in junior college - How can she end up in uni in the same year?
So she said something about her A Levels results only coming out around June. LOL. That would mean I'd be halfway through matriculation. Then my dad said, "But then there's September enrolment in uni, right?" So then my cousin proceeded to gloat, "HA! I'll be A TERM AHEAD OF YOU!"
LOL. Funny. And what else is funny is that we want to go to the same uni. If I ever qualify for Columbia, I'd be reaaaaaaaally, reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally pleased with myself =D. Oh, and if we ended up starting uni at the same time.... HA! But I think she's going to take Journalism or Econs or something. Journalism is a MAYBE for me, but econs is a no-no.
*cough*Other choices*cough*.
LALALA.
Yeah, I'm bored.
I shall.... SLEEP!

I'm still in Singapore. Will be leaving tomorrow morning. I'm, like, using my cousin's comp, and it's got Vista. Hmmm...
OH, and a note to Min Shen: HP keyboards use Century Gothic. So I'm practically pressing on buttons with Century Gothic on them.
Went on a shopping marathon today, bought nothing. I found 2 Patricia Cormnwell books I wanted, but the queues were SO LONG, I gave up after about 5 minutes in line. Besides, we were rushing then.
And, as luck may have it, today was the launch of the Audi R8 in Singapore, at Orchard Road. SADLY, I DIDN'T GET TO SEE THE LAUNCH. So I sadly didn't catch a glimpse of my current car-squeeze.
Apparently 36 R8's have already been ordered on this island. 36. Seriously. Why can't they bring it into Malaysia? Oh, wait, not everyone has the money, and people in Malaysia drive tiny little Proton's and Perodua's, unlike the million Beamers and Merc's and Audi's and MASERATI's I see here. Oh, and Porsche's. And Lamborghini's.
And Malaysians ride miserable motorcycles, not superbikes. *sigh* We are such sad people. If only the government knew how to price things properly, not give subsidies left, right and center (Hint, hint), and if our economy isn't quite as weak as it is...
OKAY, enough whining on my part. Hopefully in my next trip down here I'll be able to get the stuff I want/need. And hopefully it'll be a longer trip. But then again, my cousin wouldn't be around. At least one of them. Missing cousins mean less fun. =(
And, yes, Jen, I actually remember things from The Weakest Link... At least... some things... Very... little... things?
OH, and they were selling Astonishing X-Men at Kino. Oh, man. 30 dollars for the volume. I'm assuming it has all the chapters from the current 4 issues in it. 30 Dollars, that's cheap compared to the 20 dollars they're selling one issue for, okay?! Huh.
And, Pei Lyn, thank you for visiting my blog everyday. But I won't be bringing any Wonka's or anything back this round, because I didn't see any... weirdly.
Whee!
