Entry: Scarpetta Friday, July 03, 2009

I don't know if I have mentioned this, but my sister got my Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta (2008) for me when she got back (Yay!). I went from liking it, to not liking it (because now it seems that every case is ALL ABOUT SCARPETTA. Yes, I know she's the protagonist of the series, but that doesn't mean EVERY suspect wants a bit of her), to thinking that "Ah, well, it's the same with CSI NY and Mac - I love him, but everything shouldn't be about him", to liking it again, not liking it, and loving the ending.

As I read through, there were some stuff that amused me...

- Scarpetta's birthday is June 12, same as Edmond. LOL
- One of the characters studied in Cornell.
- Jaime Beger - the DA in the story - studied in Columbia
- Scarpetta did law in Georgetown
- Old news - Lucy loves Ferraris. Maybe if Patricia Cornwell drove an Audi...

Oh, also... Ms Ng was hilarious during ESL yesterday. We were talking about the short story and somehow went to the topic about kids/babies/innocence because I was saying that David's innocence was sacrificed, and she was like, "BABIES? ARE EVIL. THEY ARE THE GREATEST MANIPULATORS EVER"

I totally agree with that statement, by the way. Think about it? Those eyes, that inherent lack of ability to fend for themselves... The crying 'til you appease them...
